How to Create a New Extension in CrazyPBX

Setting up a new extension in CrazyPBX is a straightforward process. Follow these steps to ensure your extension is configured correctly.

Step 1: Sign In to the Crazytel Customer Portal

  1. Go to the Crazytel Customer Portal.

  2. Log in with your credentials.

  3. Click on CrazyPBX to access the PBX portal.

Step 2: Navigate to Extension Management

  1. In the CrazyPBX portal, click Extensions.

  2. Select Extension Management from the menu.

Step 3: Create a New Extension

  1. Click Create New Extension in the top-right corner.

  2. Fill in the required details:

    • Extension ID: Enter a unique 3-digit extension number.

    • Password: Create a strong password that meets the security requirements listed below the field.

    • Caller ID: Select a caller ID from the dropdown menu.

  3. Click Create Extension to finalize the setup.

Step 4: Configure Additional Settings (Optional but Recommended)

  • Email Address: Enter the user’s email if needed for notifications.

  • Internal Caller ID Name: Set an internal display name for the extension.

  • Voicemail: Enable voicemail by toggling the switch.

  • Voicemail Timezone: Set the correct timezone for accurate timestamping of voicemails.

  • Call Settings: Configure specific call preferences for this extension.

  • Area Code (Recommended): Select an area code to allow in-state calls without needing to dial the full state code.

  • SMS Caller ID (Important): If the extension will be used for SMS, select the appropriate SMS caller ID.

Once all settings are configured, your new extension is ready for use!
