Making a CrazyPBX Announcement

This guide covers how to create an announcement on CrazyPBX.

Step 1: Sign In to the Crazytel Customer Portal

  1. Go to the Crazytel Customer Portal.

  2. Log in with your credentials.

  3. Click on CrazyPBX to access the PBX portal.

Step 2: Creating the CrazyPBX Announcement

  1. Navigate to Inbound Features and click Announcements
  2. Click New Announcement on the top right corner
  3. Enter a unique number to identify the announcement.
  4. Add a Nickname for easy reference.
  5. Provide a brief description (e.g., "Sales Announcement - uses 'Sales Audio' from 26/12/25")
  6. Select the audio you'd like to use.

  7. Select the Destination - this is where the call will go after the announcement audio has finished

 

Step 3: Bring the Announcement into routing

CrazyPBX announcements can be used at any intermediary point on a call route.

Some common places for Announcements include:

  • After an IVR
  • As a Time Switch Default Route (e.g., for out-of-hours messages).
  • Immediately on incoming calls, notifying customers their call is being connected
