A manual switch allows alteration of a route between 2 (or more) destinations by dialing a unique internal number. Follow these steps to set up a Manual Switch in CrazyPBX.
Step 1: Sign In to the Crazytel Customer Portal
-
Go to the Crazytel Customer Portal.
-
Log in with your credentials.
-
Click on CrazyPBX to access the PBX portal.
Step 2: Navigate to Manual Switches
- In the CrazyPBX Portal, click Inbound Features
- Select Manual Switches from the menu.
Step 3: Create a New Manual Switch
- Click Add Manual Switch
- Enter the following details:
- Number -- choose a unique identifier for the Manual Switch
- Nickname -- assign a unique name for easy identification
- Inactive Destination -- Set the destination the Manual Switch should route to when inactive
- Active Destination -- Set the destination the Manual Switch should route to when active
- Create your Manual Switch
Step 4: Bring your Manual Switch into routing
As Manual Switches often replace fixed hours time switches (IE; 'Lunch' or 'After hours' operations), Crazytel recommends setting the Manual Switch as a DID's Primary Destination.
If you're feeling adventurous, you can set the Manual Switch at another point in your call flow, but keep in mind that the Manual Switch only changes routes AFTER it.
- Click Number Manager from the left-hand navigation menu
- Select Routing Manager
- Click the pencil icon next to your desired DID
- Set the Primary Route to CrazyPBX
- Set the Primary Destination to your Manual Switch
- Save Changes
Toggling your Manual Switch
Manual Switches can be toggled 2 ways:
- Via the CrazyPBX Portal
- By Feature Code
Via the Portal:
- From the CrazyPBX Portal, navigate to Inbound Features > Manual Switches
