Configuring DID Routing in VitalPBX

This guide explains how to route incoming calls from your Crazytel DID (Direct Inward Dialing) number to your VitalPBX instance.

Configuration Steps

1. Access Inbound Routes

  1. Navigate to the left-hand menu
  2. Select Connectivity → Inbound Routes

2. Configure Route Settings

On the new route configuration page, enter:

  • Description: Enter a name to identify this route
    • Choose something descriptive that helps you identify the purpose of this DID
  • DID Pattern: Enter your purchased number
    • Must be in international format: 61XXXXXXX
    • Example: If your number is 0291234567, enter 61291234567
  • Inbound Destination: Select where calls should be directed
    • Options include:
      • Extension
      • IVR
      • Call Flow
      • Ring Groups
      • Other call handling features

3. Save Configuration

  • Click the Update button in the bottom right corner
  • Wait for the configuration to be applied

Verification

After configuration:

  • Test the DID by calling your number
  • Verify calls route to your chosen destination

Tips

  • Keep a record of which DIDs are routed where
  • Consider creating a naming convention for your routes
  • Double-check the international format of your DID numbers

Note: Always test your configuration after making changes to ensure calls are routing correctly.
