Adding a SIP Trunk with IP Authentication: A Step-by-Step Guide

Overview:

This article will walk you through the process of adding a new SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) trunk to your account using IP Authentication. This setup allows for secure and reliable voice over IP (VoIP) communication.
 

Step 1: Access Your Account

 
  • Navigate to the Crazytel portal at [portal.crazytel.com.au](http://portal.crazytel.com.au).
  • Log in with your existing credentials. If you're new to Crazytel, you can create an account directly on the portal.
 

Step 2: Create a New SIP Trunk

Important Note: There is no limit to the number of SIP trunks you can create.

  • From the left-hand menu, select "SIP Trunks".
  • Click the "Add SIP Trunk" button to initiate the setup process.
 

Step 3: Configure Your SIP Trunk Details

  • Trunk Type: Select "IP Authentication" from the available options.
  • IP Address: Enter the IP Address of your Private Branch Exchange (PBX).
    This is crucial for connecting your VoIP system.
  • CallerID Number: Choose from your list of verified numbers. This will be used for outgoing call identification.
  • Nickname: Assign a unique name to your SIP trunk for easy recognition within your account.

Click Submit.

 

Step 4: Verify Your Account Security

  • To ensure account security, we will verify your identity via a mobile phone call. Click "Next" to receive the verification call.
  • Listen for the verification PIN and enter it in the provided field.
  • Click "Submit" to complete the verification process.
